Hello world, again! đź‘‹

After a few years away, I’m excited to officially announce: ilearnaws.com is back online!
If you’ve visited this site before, you might remember it as a place where I shared hands-on insights, tutorials, and notes from my journey through the AWS cloud ecosystem. But if you’re new here—welcome!

This is the story of how I lost my domain, got it back (by chance), and why I’ve decided to reboot this blog in 2025.

How It Started

I originally launched ilearnaws.com as a personal project to document my learning and real-world work with Amazon Web Services. As someone who enjoys exploring cloud technologies and building solutions with AWS, I wanted a space to:

  • Share practical how-tos and examples
  • Reflect on lessons learned from production challenges
  • Create a reference I could come back to (and others could use too)

Over time, life got busy—as it does—and in 2022, I made the classic mistake of forgetting to renew the domain. With everything else going on, the reminder slipped through the cracks. I noticed it a few weeks too late, and by then, it was gone.

The Silence

From 2022 to 2025, the site was offline. I didn’t post anything new, and for a while, I wasn’t even sure I’d bring the blog back. But in the background, AWS and cloud tech kept evolving—and so did I.

Every now and then, I’d revisit my old blog posts saved locally or referenced in projects, and it reminded me how valuable it had been—not just for others, but for me too. Still, without the domain, restarting felt like a long shot.

The Unexpected Turn

Fast forward to today, May 2025. Just out of curiosity, I typed ilearnaws.com into a domain checker—and to my complete surprise, it was available again!

I bought it immediately. No hesitation. Within hours, I had the blog back up, restored, and redesigned for a fresh start. It felt like a sign—maybe it’s time to get back to what I loved doing.

What’s Next

With the site back online, I plan to:

  • Share regular blog posts on AWS tools, services, and design patterns
  • Cover real-world challenges from my work and how I solve them
  • Create step-by-step guides for people learning AWS or working in cloud roles
  • Explore newer areas like serverlessdata engineering, and generative AI on AWS

I’m not aiming for perfection—just progress and consistency. If you’re learning AWS or working in the cloud space, I hope the content here will be useful, relatable, and occasionally even fun.

Thank You

If you ever read this blog in its earlier days, thank you for being part of that chapter. And if you’re new, I’m glad you’re here.
ilearnaws.com is back—and better than before. Let’s build something great.

Stay tuned,

Henry
